ASI Global Online Privacy Policy
1.0 Introduction
The purpose of this document is to inform you about the type of information that ASI Global, LLC (“ASI Global”); a subsidiary of ASI Group, gathers on individuals, how it uses this information, whether it is disclosed to any third parties, your ability to modify/remove said information and how that information is protected.
2.0 Effective Date and Changes to ASI Global Privacy Policy
2.1 The effective date of this Privacy Policy is May 1, 2007.
2.2 ASI has created a Privacy Policy Update Log to provide a public notification mechanism to announce changes to this policy document. The Privacy Policy Update Log will note the date of any change to the ASI Privacy Policy and document the nature of the change. Consumers may access the ASI Global Privacy Policy Update Log by visiting http://www.asiglobalresponse.com/ppul.htm.
3.0 Information Collection and Usage
ASI Global may collect, store and use information gathered on individuals that utilize its public and password protected Websites and/or request information via email. Personal information gathered by ASI through its public and subscription-based Websites and/or email may be transferred across state or country borders. All such data transfers shall be in accordance with the terms outlined in this document.
ASI Global is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
In all circumstances, ASI may collect and possibly share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, situations creating potential threats to the physical safety of any person, suspected fraud, violations of the ASI Global Terms of Service(s) or as otherwise required by law. ASI Global may respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process and may choose to establish or exercise its legal rights or defend against legal claims.
In some circumstances, personal information may be shared with trusted third parties. The circumstances and organizations in which information may be shared is outlined in Section 5.0 of this document.
Individuals acting in a business capacity may have their personal business information stored in retrievable form by ASI Global for an extended period of time. Personal information stored and/or utilized by ASI Global may include, but is not limited to: name, address, title, telephone number, fax number and email address. Individuals may request to review, change, or remove personal information that is stored in retrievable form in ASI Global’s databases by following the processes set out in Section 6.0 of this document.
3.1 Information Requests via ASI Global Website
ASI Global may store and/or utilize personal information actively submitted to its public Websites for marketing purposes. Individuals who do not wish to share personal information should not actively submit such information to ASI Global. In circumstances in which the inquiry pertains to a subject and/or service not directly provided by ASI Global, personal information may be transferred to a third party for marketing purposes with the written permission of the individual. If the individual does not provide written permission, personal information will not be transferred to a third party for marketing or other purposes.
3.2 Information Requests via Electronic Mail
ASI Global may store and/or utilize personal information actively submitted via email as a result of an information inquiry for marketing purposes. Individuals who do not wish to share personal information should not actively submit such information to ASI Global. In circumstances in which the inquiry pertains to a subject and/or service not directly provided by ASI Global, personal information may be transferred to a third party for marketing purposes with the written permission of the individual. If the individual does not provide written permission, personal information will not be transferred to a third party for marketing purposes.
3.3 Online Services
Information gathered on users of ASI Global password protected online services is utilized for statistical monitoring of session usage and legal purposes on behalf of ASI Global, its designated agents and/or affiliates. This information will not be used for marketing purposes or sold/transferred to third-parties for marketing purposes. Archived information regarding session usage may be stored for an extended period of time.
3.4 Use of “Cookies”
A “cookie” is a piece of information stored temporarily in an individual’s browser memory space or placed on the individual computer's hard drive (stored cookie). Cookies may be used in some circumstances on some information systems, but are not used for marketing purposes by ASI Global, its designated agents and/or affiliates. Cookies utilized by ASI Global are not used to track usage outside of ASI Global Websites.
4.0 Third-Party Websites
Links to third-party Websites are provided as a convenience to the user. When linking to a third-party Website, the user will leave the system administered by ASI Global. Control and content of third-party Websites are provided by the owner of that Website and not ASI Global. ASI Global does not endorse or make any representation regarding third-party Websites and cannot be held responsible for content, control or usage in any manner whatsoever. Use of third-party sites should be done entirely at the user’s own risk.
5.0 Information Sharing
In some circumstances, personal information may be shared with ASI Group, L.P. and/or The Travelers Companies Inc (“Travelers”).
5.1 ASI Global contracts with ASI Group to operate and maintain its password protected sites. Personal information required to set up and/or maintain user accounts may be shared with ASI Group for the purpose of Website access and marketing purposes. 5.2 ASI Global is under contract with The Travelers Companies Inc. with regard to the provision of services in connection to certain insurance policies. ASI Group may share personal information pertaining to password protected Website usage for Travelers’ policyholders, brokers and/or underwriters with Travelers.
6.0 Review, Modification and Removal of Data
An individual may request to review, change, or remove personal information that is stored in retrievable form in ASI Global’s databases by formal written request to ASI Global. Information is considered to be in retrievable form when it is "retrievable in the ordinary course of business" by taking steps that are taken on a regular basis in the conduct of ASI Global’s business activities with respect to that information, or that ASI Global is capable of taking with the procedures it uses on a regular basis in the conduct of its business.
